CALARCA

Arriving from Ibagué, this village is noted as the first destination quindiano once culminates the lowering of the height of the line. In the center of Calarca highlight some colorful and large houses of multiple windows and spacious balconies that identify your urban style. Recently many of these buildings were restored and are now doing part of the circuit on the architectural promotes next to Salento, Pijao and Filandia.
Calarcá bases its economy on agriculture, trade, some small businesses and tourism through the coffee estates and some parks like the Botanical Garden of the Quindío and the path of the Coffee Culture Recuca.
SALENTO

It is perhaps the most important for tourism in the Quindío, this is due to three main reasons. The first, the beautiful and preserved architecture, the legacy of the Antioquian colonization; the second, the imposing Cocora Valley, landscaped level, which is one of the most beautiful of Colombia; and the third by a contagious atmosphere of peace and well-being that permeates immediately above.
To get there take the track that connects Armenia with Pereira, making the detour to the right in km 17. Salento appears at the end of a curved road that passes through the valley of the river Quindío and passes in front of the huts typical of the corregimiento of Boquia. The so-called father of the municipalities of the Quindío, was the first to be founded by settlers from Antioquia in the mid-19th century.
FILANDIA

It is one of the towns favorite for visitors due to its tranquility and the beautiful architecture of the Antioquian colonization. It is located to the north of the department by the Autopista del Cafe, of which there is a detour to the left at km 20 and then take a narrow paved road and about 7 km away.
It is charming the friendly nature of the inhabitants, many of whom are coffee growers, the first product of the municipality and the reason for the formation of the culture that lives in all its corners. The peasants, at the end of their journeys, gather in the square to share their experiences.
MONTENEGRO

BUENAVISTA

"One Block From The Sky", was the phrase was invented the poet quindiano Mariano Salazar, to accurately describe the topographical features of this municipality in the south of the department. Buenavista is mounted in a bend of the Cordillera Central, being a natural viewpoint of the landscape quindiano, because in its streets and rural areas are common strategic sites to admire it.
By the characteristics of the soil steep, the population is like a balcony created by nature for its lush on the western flank of the mountain range. The streets, which are a challenge to the heights, as well as the various viewpoints mounted in the hills, are perfect for fans of the landscape and lovers of peace and tranquillity.
QUIMBAYA

This municipality in the northwest of Quindio is characterized because the greater part of its territory is rural, excelling in good part of the landscape crops of bananas and coffee.
In the central park, the yipaos pass and parked as permanent signal that is in a typical village of the area coffee maker. The streets and the square quimbayunas are meeting point and necessary step toward the attractions of the region, such as the National Park of the Culture Park Panaca.
CORDOBA

The name of this town comes from the general independence of origin of Antioquia, Jose Maria Cordova, in honor of the founders of the young soldier that accompanied some of the exploits of the Liberator Simón Bolívar.
Cordoba is on the left side of the Central mountain range to the south of the department of Quindío. The quiet village stands out among various crops of coffee, cassava, beans and bananas. But especially, Cordoba arises from among thousands of guaduales, the variety of bamboo that identifies the Coffee Triangle and you have in this population a special center for study and conservation.
LA TEBAIDA

This city was founded on 14 August 1916 by guaqueros partakers of the Antioquian Colonization of the Quindío during the last phase of the Colonization Paisa.
Its economy, as in all the surrounding regions, was based mainly on the cultivation of coffee. The Community diversified agriculture and directed it later to other products such as tobacco, fruits, bananas and citrus fruit, due to the instability of coffee prices that was presented at any time.
GENOVA

Genova is a village and municipality in the southern area of the department of Quindío. The economy of the municipality is mainly based on farming activities, among which stands out the coffee maker in all the sidewalks with the exception of the farms in the highlands.
the plantain and banana, also the fruit of cold weather, the caña panelera, beans and maize.and it is said that it was the indigenous territory.
PIJAO

It is a municipality in the department of Quindío. It is considered by many as a municipality of singular beauty.
Its economy is based on agriculture, especially coffee, sugar cane, lulo, mora, and bread. Account also with crops of pine in its mountains, in addition to the Pope. Their culture is rich in architecture, dance and music
CIRCASIA

It was founded in 1884 by settlers from Antioquia. It was erected as a municipality on 8 December 1906. Its original name was the iron, was later changed by Circasia, name that comes from a region of Russia.
It is particularly known for its free cemetery located on the outskirts of the village on the road to Montenegro. Circasia is called "Land of free men and women" by its earliest inhabitants, highly educated people, of great lineage, and with libertarian ideas, men free thinkers. Cultural element that is still in the village in places like: Cemetery Free, Free, Free, Free, Free and Freedom Park.
ARMENIA

Armenia is a Colombian municipality, capital of the department of Quindio and one of the main centers of the colombian coffee and the so-called Region Paisa.
It was founded on 14 October of 1,889 by Jesús María Ocampo, alias "Celso Godilano", Alejandro, Jesús María Suárez and 27 other settlers.
